Janus je starorímsky boh všetkých začiatkov. Pretože mal dve tváre, videl do minulosti aj do budúcnosti. Podľa neho je pomenovaný prvý mesiac v roku, január.
Ianus is one of the gods of ancient Rome, the god of all beginnings. He has two faces for seeing future as well as past. According to him, the first month of the year was called January.
